MRTA discusses with the Thai Blind Association to create a travel map for the visually impaired on the MRT Purple Line to effectively respond to users

On June 6, 2025, Mr. Vithaya Punmongkol, Deputy Governor (Operations), Acting Governor of Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA), revealed the progress of the M.R.T. Chalong Ratchadham Line (MRT Purple Line)’s map for the visually impaired passengers pursuant to the ruling of the Supreme Administrative Court. MRTA has coordinated with the Thailand Association of the Blind (TAB) and Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM), as the concessionaire for the train service operation, to design and produce additional maps for the visually impaired passengers at all 16 MRT Purple Line stations to meet relevant standards, including producing additional media such as audio navigation systems, as recommended by TAB. In addition, MRTA intends to develop facilities for the visually impaired passengers in other MRT lines to be complete and comprehensive. MRTA will closely coordinate with TAB to jointly design and improve facilities for the visually impaired passengers to effectively respond to their needs and to further improve MRTA's MRT services.
