Deputy Minister of Transport inspects the project to improve the potential of the transportation system and promote road safety and the project to develop the mass transit system project in Chiang Mai Province

Piyachote, Deputy Minister of Transport presided over the cooperation project
between Provincial Administration Organization (PAO) and transport units to improve the potential of the
transportation system and promote road safety in Chiang Mai Province at Chalerm

by Mr. Montri Tungcharoenthavorn, Advisor to the Deputy
Minister of Transport, Mr. Jakkapat Klongphayabal, Advisor
to the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Sorapong Paitoonphong,
Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport (Head
of Transport Mission Group), Mr. Chirute
Visalachitra, Director-General of Department of Land
Transport, Mr. Nirat Pongsitthaworn, Governor of Chiang
Mai Province and executives of Chiang Mai PAO and relevant agencies. On the occasion, Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) led by Mr. Nutt
Nakthoranin, Assistant Governor of MRTA participated in the exhibition, to present information and
progress of the Chiang Mai Mass Transit Project, which consists of the
Red Line: Nakornping Hospital – Mae
Hia Saman Samakkhi Intersection Section, the Red Line Extension Project: Mae Hia Saman Samakkhi Intersection to Royal Park Rajapruek
Section, the Blue Line: Chiang Mai Zoo – Sri
Bua Ngern Phatthana Intersection Section, and the Green Line:
Ruamchok Meechai Intersection – Chiang Mai Airport
Section, which can connect travel to important tourist attractions in Chiang
Mai Province.
Moreover, the Deputy Minister of Transport, and his team went to inspect the “Improvement of Seamless Public Transport System (Wheel – Rail) Connection” project at Chiang Mai Bus Terminal 1 (Chang Phueak Bus Station), which is the connection point between the public bus and the Chiang Mai Mass Transit Project (Red Line) and is an important connection point for travel to the surrounding areas consisting of cultural tourist attractions, schools, government offices, etc. Mr. Surapong ordered MRTA to execute a public hearing in order to provide an opportunity for public and local government and private agencies to participate in providing their opinions on the appropriate project model that will truly meets the needs of the people in Chiang Mai.
