On 23 April 2025, Mr. Vithaya Punmongkol, Deputy Governor (Operations) and Acting Governor of Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA), Gp. Capt. Dr. Somchai Thanasitthichai, Director of the National Cancer Institute, jointly signed a Memorandum of Agreement on the project to develop public health service in MRT system area at Meeting Room 1, 9th Floor, Building 1, MRTA.

This signing of the MOA is due to the National Cancer Institutes plan to expand the cancer risk screening clinic service to accommodate the continuously increasing number of service users. The institute considered that MRTAs MRT areas, both those currently in service and those to be in service in the future, are potential areas because the routes cover Bangkok and its vicinity area, allowing people to access such services conveniently. In this regard, both agencies will jointly study, survey, and set models for improving public health service areas, as well as provide other related cooperation.
