MRTA Board of Directors inspect construction sites of the MRT Purple Line Project, Contract 4, to follow up its progress

Mr. Montri Dechasakulsom, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA), along with MRTA directors executives, visited Launch Shaft 1 construction sites at Somdech Phra Pin Klao Hospital Station of the MRT Purple Line Project: Tao Pun Rat Burana (Kanchanapisek Road) Section, Contract 4: Memorial Bridge Dao Khanong Section, to inspect the construction of the underground station structure and the tunneling work, as well as to inspect the implementation of construction safety measures and environmental impact prevention and mitigation measures in accordance with the policy of the Ministry of Transport, which places importance on construction standards and supervision measures that take into account the highest level of safety.

Mr. Montri Dechasakulsom said that as the MRT Purple Line Project has both elevated and underground structures, the visit to the construction site of Somdech Phra Pin Klao Hospital Station this time is a continuous inspection of the previous inspection at the elevated structure construction site in April 2025. For the implementation of the Contract 4 Memorial Bridge Dao Khanong Section, the tunneling work from Somdech Phra Pin Klao Hospital Station to Memorial Bridge Station was started in January 2025, using two tunnel boring machines. The construction progress of the Contract 4 as at the end of March 2025 is 53.06 percent.

The chairman has instructed MRTA, project management and construction supervision consultants, and contractors to strictly comply with safety measures, such as control of machine condition monitoring and accurate and safe work procedures, inspection of contractor compliance with the policy of the Ministry of Transport in controlling safety in the construction of infrastructure, etc., and comply with environmental impact prevention and mitigation measures, for example, spraying water to reduce dust during construction, inspecting the condition of machinery to meet standards, turning off engines when not in use, and dredging drainage pipes and preventing debris from blocking drainage pipes to prepare for the upcoming rainy season.
