Preparation for subway safety before Service opening of the M.R.T. Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line

 

The Royal Thai Police, Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) and Bangkok Metro Company Limited (BMCL) have jointly prepared for subway safety readiness as a precaution measure to protect the subway commuters and the system of the M.R.T. Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line from any undesirable incidents. In this connection, the Royal Thai Police organized a training course for 600 MRTA officers (system supervisory authority) and BMCL employees (concessionaire) on methods of handling emergencies, crime prevention, communication, negotiation skill required for hostage rescuers etc… at Police Club during 16 th – 18 th February 2004. The training course also provided hands-on experiences at M.R.T. Depot on 20 th February 2004 . There are about 200 trainees attending the training course with the representative of the U.S. State Department, the supporter of the course are observer.

The BMCL plans to organize its own field exercises in the subway stations and tunnels.
