Debut of Thailand’s First Mangmoom Debit Card
At the press conference held on September 14, 2018, Mr. Pakapong Sirikantaramas, Governor of MRTA and Mr. Payong Srivanich, President of Krungthai Bank jointly introduced “Krungthai Metro Link Debit Card”, Thailand’s first mangmoom debit card providing function of both purchasing and travelling. The co-brand debit card now can be used for travel by the two MRT lines, the M.R.T. Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line and the M.R.T. Chalong Ratchadham Line and will later link to ARL train, BMTA bus, and other Mangmoom network’s system. The debit card is created to increase the quality’s service which meets a need of metro life in order to promote travel by mass transit systems and move Thailand to a cashless society. The debit card enable cardholders to travel by MRT, withdraw cash, transfer money, and make purchases at stores accepting MasterCard, starting by the end of this September. Therefore, there are promotions for the first 20,000 customers who register within this November, including excepting 100 Baht entrance fee, and getting cash back amount of 30 Baht per month when top up 300 Baht (not more than 90 Baht). KTB also facilitate customer by setting registration points at Tao Pun Station, Phetchaburi Station, Lat Phrao Station, Sukhumvit Station, Phahon Yothin Station and Bang Yai Station in October 2018.
