Park & Ride Locations

    MRTA has prepared park & ride areas for MRT passengers who want to park their cars and take MRT subway to their destinations. MRTA has started park & ride service since August 13, 2004 and has been certified to ISO 9001:2008 since January 27, 2006.

 Park & Ride Locations

 Currently there are 12 park & ride areas including 2 parking buildings and 10 ground-level parking lots with total 3,000 spaces, located at 9 stations along the route of MRT Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line as follows:

  1. Park & Ride Building, Lat Phrao Station (2,200 spaces)
  2. Parking lot, Ratchadaphisek Station (75 spaces)
  3. Parking lot, Huai Khwang Station (73 spaces)
  4. Parking lot, Thailand Cultural Centre Station (30 spaces) (only for monthly parking)
  5. Park & Ride Building, Thailand Cultural Centre Station (205 spaces)
  6. Parking lot, Thailand Cultural Centre Station (Soi Ratchadaphisek 6) (106 spaces) (only for monthly parking)
  7. Parking lot, Phra Ram 9 Station (Soi Ratchadaphisek 2) (50 spaces)
  8. Parking lot, Phetchaburi Station (54 spaces)
  9. Parking lot, Sukhumvit Station (33 spaces) (close on 11 September 2014 )
  10. Parking lot, Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre Station (79 spaces)
  11. Parking lot, opposite side of Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre (42 spaces) (only for monthly parking)
  12. Parking lot, Sam Yan Station (32 spaces)

Parking Fees (since April 1, 2013)

  1. The parking fee for MRT passenger is 15 Baht per 2 hours.
  2. The parking fee for non-MRT passenger is 40 Baht per hour (except Petchaburi Station, Sukhumvit Station, and Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre Station 50 Baht per hour).
  3. The monthly parking fee for Park & Ride Building, Lat Phrao Station is 1,250 Baht per month and the monthly parking fee for other parking lots is 1,500 Baht per month.

MRTA Park & Ride Guide

  1. Entering park & ride, receive a smart card from the entry booth.
  2. M.R.T. passenger has to bring a smart card for discount recording within paid area of the destination station. The smart card cannot be recorded for discount at the station leaving car.
  3. Exiting park & ride, return the smart card and pay parking fee at the exit booth.

MRTA Park & Ride Regulations

  1. MRTA park & ride opens daily between 05:00 a.m. - 01:00 a.m. Overnight parking is not allowed, the violator shall be fined 300 Baht per day for MRT passenger / monthly member and 1,000 Baht per day for non-MRT passenger.
  2. If the smart card is lost, the driver shall be fined 300 Baht and declare car ownership reference before departing park & ride.
  3. Drivers in park & ride area must obey the rule of ministerial regulation in MRT system B.E.2547.
  4. Parking within prohibited area is not allowed, the violator’s car will be locked and the violator shall be fined 1,000 Baht for each violation.

Ticket

1.Single Journey Token


        Single Journey Token is valid for a single journey on the date of purchase only, with the fare according to chosen destination. Token will be retained at an Automatic Gate upon exit. An unused token on the date of purchase will be expired. However, token can be refunded at the Ticket office in service time.

  • • Adult Token can be issued from both Ticket Vending Machine and Ticket office. Fare rate is calculated based on distance.
  • • Child and Elder Token can be issued only at Ticket office according to 50% discount from full fare rate.
  • • Use only in Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line.

2.Stored Value Card

  • • Multiple journeys in Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line and Chalong Ratchadham Line.
  • • Made payment for parking fee in Park & Ride Building of Chalong Ratchadham Line.
  • • Initial value of 180 Baht (100 Baht Travel value, 50 Baht Deposit and 30 Baht Issuing fee.)
  • • Issue at Ticket office in Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line.
  • • Top up value at Ticket Vending Machine in Chalong Ratchadham Line and Ticket office in Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line and Chalong Ratchadham Line.
  • • Further tops up can be obtained at designated graduated from 100 baht. No fragment of a hundred is possible and the remaining value in the card must not exceed 2,000 baht.
  • • Invalid card after 2 years from date of last used can be refunded. MRTA / BEM reserve the right to charge fees for refund.
  • • Transfer between Chalong Ratchadham Line and Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line within 60 minutes will receive exception of entry fee.

2.1Adult card

  • • For adult.
  • • Full fare rate.

2.2Child and elder card

  • • For Child (Child’s aged not more than 14 years old and 91-120 centimeters tall.)
  • • For Elder ( 60 years old or older)
  • • Citizen ID or document which issued by government must be presented upon request.
  • • 50% discount from full fare rate.

2.3Student card

  • • For student aged not over 23 years old according to date of birth on Citizen ID and currently studying at an academic institution.
  • • Student ID and Citizen ID must be presented upon request.
  • • 10% discount from full fare rate.

3.Period Pass

  • • For Adult
  • • Issue at Ticket office in Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line.
  • • Use only in Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line.
  • • No deposit, non addable and non refundable.

3.1 day pass

  • • 1 day unlimited trips since the 1st entering in paid area to midnight of that day
  • • Cost 120 Baht
  • • 3.2 3 - day pass
  • • Unlimited 3 consecutive days travel since the 1st entering in paid area to midnight of the 3rd day.
  • • Cost 230 Baht
  • • 3.3 30 - day pass
  • • Unlimited 30 consecutive days travel since the 1st entering in paid area to midnight of the 30th day.
  • • Cost 1,400 Baht

3.2 3 - day pass

  • • Unlimited 3 consecutive days travel since the 1st entering in paid area to midnight of the 3rd day.
  • • Cost 230 Baht

3.3 30 - day pass

  • • Unlimited 30 consecutive days travel since the 1st entering in paid area to midnight of the 30th day.
  • • Cost 1,400 Baht

Fare Rate

Privileged

  1. Children under 14 years old and not more than 90 cm. tall will be entitled to the free ride.
  2. Persons with disabilities (PWD) must present ID card for PWD to BEM staff and will be entitled to the free ride.

Ticket Vending Machine

1.Ticket Vending Machine at Chalerm Ratchamongkhon Line issue only a single journey token in adult type. Ticket Vending Machine accepts baht 1, 5 and 10 coin as well as 20, 50 and 100 Baht banknote and change in coin only.

2. Ticket Vending Machine at Chalong Ratchadham can add value and indicate the balance and transaction history. Ticket Vending Machine accepts Baht 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000 banknote and does not have the change.

 

                

Connection

Supporting people to travel connect with MRT Subway (Feeder Systems)

MRTA has cooperated with Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) by providing area for BMTA bus stop


       MRTA has cooperated with Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) by providing area for BMTA bus stop. People can take buses and continue to travel with MRT subway to their destinations. BMTA has received MRTA permission to locate the bus stops in MRTA area since the opening of MRT subway on July 3, 2004 as follows:

  1. Park & Ride Building, Thailand Cultural Centre Station for the bus No.137
  2. Parking lot, Sam Yan Station for the bus No.45

     Besides MRTA has cooperated with BMTA to improve the bus routes connected with Bang Sue Station for 3 routes which are No.65, No.70, and No.97 since September 12, 2006. BMTA has provided the bus No.196 on the route Bangkhen Depot – Soi Senanikhom 1 – MRT Lat Phrao Station since August 16, 2012.

 MRTA has permitted private firms to park the shuttle vans in MRTA park & ride area
      MRTA has permitted private firms to park the shuttle vans in MRTA park & ride area, convenient for group travelling between offices or resident areas to MRT stations which are as follows:

  1. Huai Khwang Station, permission for 2 firms i.e. Lumpini Ville Cultural Center Condominium and U Delight @ Huaykwang Station Condominium.
  2. Petchaburi Station, permission for 7 firms i.e. Krungthai-AXA Life Insurance PCL. , Bangkok Expressway PCL. , Bangkok Office 3 Co., Ltd , Italian-Thai Development PCL. , Praram 9 Hospital , Amari Atrium Bangkok Hotel , and Bangkok Hospital.

Connection to Other Properties

hahonyothin Station
         MRTA has constructed an overpass across Phahonyothin road in front of Central Ladprao department store and the skywalk connecting to bus stop in front of Central Ladprao department store. An overpass and skywalk are open since March 2004. In addition,          MRTA has permitted LLC Bangkok Co.,Ltd. to connect an overpass to Union Mall department store since June 29, 2007.
Rama 9 Station
         MRTA has permitted Central Pattana 9 Square Co.,Ltd. to connect the underground walkway between Central Plaza Rama 9 department store at the basement 1st floor and the entrance no.2 of Rama 9 station, which is open since December 14, 2011.


Petchaburi Station
        MRTA has permitted State Railway of Thailand (SRT) to construct the skywalk connecting between the entrance no.1 of Petchaburi station of MRT and Makkasan station of the Airport Rail Link (ARL) which will facilitate both MRT and ARL passengers. SRT has employed PKET Co.,Ltd. to construct the skywalk which the construction plan is from July 1, 2012 to November 27, 2012 (150 days). Petchaburi station parking lot is now temporarily close and will be open after construction is completed

Sukhumvit Station

  1. MRTA has constructed the connecting building between the entrance no.3 of Sukhumvit station of MRT and Asoke station of BTS. The connecting building facilitates both MRT and BTS passengers to access to MRT and BTS easily and safely since October 28, 2004.
  2. MRTA has permitted B&G Park Co.,Ltd. to construct the walkway between Interchange building at the ground floor and the entrance no.2 of Sukhumvit station. The walkway is open since September 25, 2009.

 

 

Silom Station
       MRTA has constructed an overpass across Silom road and the connecting skywalk between the entrance no.2 of Silom station of MRT and Saladaeng station of BTS. This connecting skywalk is open since February 1, 2005.
Samyan Station
       MRTA has permitted Chulalongkorn University to connect the underground walkway between Chamchuri Square building at the underground floor and the entrance no.2 of Samyan station, which is open since March 26, 2008.
