Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) as the agency responsible for the construction of the MRT Orange Line Project: Thailand Cultural Centre – Min Buri (Suwinthawong) Section assigned the project’s contractor to monitor the construction area along Ratchadaphisek Road, Watthanatham Road, Thiam Ruam Mit Road, Rama 9 Road, and Ramkhamhaeng Road to cope with and alleviate flooding problem in rainy season and orders civil works contractors to dredge drainpipe and ditches along the project route to prevent construction debris from clogging and increase the efficiency of the drainage system. The details are as follows:
- CKST Joint Venture, contractor of Contact 1: Underground Civil Works: Thailand Cultural Centre – Min Buri Section (Suwinthawong) Section and Contract 2: Underground Civil Works: Ramkhamhaeng 12 – Hua Mak Section dredged drainpipes in the construction areas of Thailand Cultural Centre Station, MRTA Station, and Wat Phraram Kao Station, along Ratchadaphisek Road, Watthanatham Road, Thiam Ruam Mit Road, Rama 9 Road, and Ramkhamhaeng Road
- Unique Engineering and Construction PCL, contractor Contract 4: Elevated Civil Works: Khlong Ban Ma - Suwinthawong Section dredged public ditches in areas of Soi Ramkhamhaeng 112, Soi Ramkhamhaeng 155-157, and Soi Ramkhamhaeng 163
Moreover, MRTA emphasized that project’s consultants must control the contractors to continuously dredge drainpipe every 3 months and to monitor and prepare staff and water pumps for assisting people in accordance with the social responsibility policy in giving importance to people and communities along the MRT lines that may be affected by its construction operations.
