Prime Minister's visit to M.R.T Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line Project and the meetingCommission for the Management of Land Traffic

 
On February 23, 2004, Pol.Lt.Col. Taksin Shinawatra, Prime Minister, some Cabinet members, the Commission for Management of Land Traffic (CMLT), some of the House of Representative and media paid a visit to the M.R.T. Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line Project at Hua Lamphong subway station. Upon arrival, they ware welcomed by the MRTA Board of Directors, MRTA Governor, MRTA Management Team, executives from Bangkok Metro Co., Ltd. and Siemens Company.
 
 
On this occasion, the Prime Minister and the distinguished guests took a train for the test run from Hua Lamphong Subway Station to Thailand Cultural Center Station, a distance covering10 stations. After the test run, the Prime Minister then chaired the meeting No.1/2004 of the Commission for Management of Land Traffic held on the 2nd Floor of Thailand Cultural Centre Station. The topic of the meeting is the development and implementation of the mass rapid transit systems and the network of traffic systems in the Bangkok Metropolitan area and its vicinity. On the part of MRTA, the meeting agreed with the MRTA should construct the extension lines and the new lines with the total route length of 91 km. and to be completed within 6 years.
