The Prime Minister urges the construction of MRT Pink and Yellow lines to be ready for service within 2021

On August 27, 2018, Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha presided over the ceremony of official launching the construction of the MRT Pink Line Project: Khae Rai – Min Buri Section and the MRT Yellow Line Project: Lat Phrao – Samrong Section at the construction site of the MRT Yellow Line Project: Lat Phrao – Samrong Section, Srinakharin Highway Depot, Srinakharin Road, Bangna, Bangkok. He was welcomed by Mr. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, Minister of Transport, Mr. Pairin Chuchotethavorn, Deputy Minister of Transport, Gen. Wilas Aroonsri, Secretary-General to the Prime Minister,    Pol. Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, Mr. Pakapong Sirikantaramas, Governor of MRTA, Mr. Panu Yamsri, Governor of Nonthaburi Province, Mr. Chartchai Utaipan, Governor of Samut Prakan Province, Mr. Keeree Kanjanapas, Chairman of the Executive Committee of BTS Group Holdings Co., Ltd., Mr. Pakpoom Srichamni, President of Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. and Mr. Kijja Sripatthangkura, Chief Executive Officer of Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL.

The Prime Minister pushed a button to pour concrete into the first foundation structure as a symbol of the official launching the construction of Thailand’s first two monorail lines which their service are scheduled to launch in 2021.
